Gisela Mendoza Sanchez, LMT

WA state license #MA60621546

Originally from Nicaragua, with half her life spent in California, Gisela grew interested in the power of touch after helping with an elder's death process. She became a licensed massage therapist in 2016 at Discovery Point School of Massage in Seattle.

Her passion for bodywork started after experiencing her own injuries from strenuous physical activities such as road biking, long distance mountain trekking, and doing repetitive movements. In 2010, she obtained a master's in public health, and prior to that, had worked as a health researcher. Her research mindset has encouraged her to incorporate new information to support massage techniques that help clients ease body aches, adjust posture, and increase relaxation.

Her focus is gentle stimulation of the superficial fascia (myofascial massage) which produces long term results. Gisela is also trained in intra-oral, breast, prenatal, postnatal, Swedish, abdominal, sports, hot stone, and cupping massage.

Intra-oral massage is a safe and effective manual technique that works on the fascia inside the mouth to gently treat the targeted muscle with light pressure. It may also relieve headaches and neck or shoulder tension that is related to TMJ.

Therapeutic breast massage loosens the tissues of the chest, shoulders, and neck, using a combination of massage techniques, movement, breathing, and stretching. Whether your breasts are healthy or compromised, many can benefit from this work, and it can be a powerful aid to healing emotionally or physically after surgery or radiation therapy.
